  We were attended to as soon as we walked in the restaurant and tea given to us quickly.
  
  The food was pretty nice, the Xiao Long Bao being the best dish we got there.  The skins were not to thick. Came with a slice of carrot at the bottom so they would keep, not see that before. Taste was good, one or two didn't really contain much soup.  Very good effort.
  
  The long beans we ordered could have been tarted up a bit more, they were crisp and fresh but felt something else needed to be added to it to make it more exciting.
  
  The restaurant itself wasn't particularly glamorous but it was adequate. Part of the kitchen is on view so you can see one of the chefs prepare the noodles. There was some clutter on the floor, such as boxes of booze which could have been put somewhere in the back. Many of the customers in there seemed to be regular.
  
  The customer service was adequate. Couldn't quite figure it out but staff seemed either a little sad or very shy. They weren't particularly communicative but seemed to do the job that was expected of them.  I am the sort of person who does like a bit of banter with people and that was lacking here.  The chef came onto the floor to pick himself up a drink from the cabinet and he could have gone round the tables to see if everyone was enjoying themselves, people really remember instances like that if only he had done that.
  
  I would go back but not that often.  The competition in BC is fierce so they need to be at the top of their game to attract me back and give me good value for money.

  We came back here after a while, despite it being in our back yard practically. The food here is very flavourful and good.
  But This time there was a small catch. A very dangerous one too. We found a very small piece of black wire in our lamb dish.
  
  It was about a 1 cm long. We are sure it came from the wire colanders they use to prep food. They gave us the dish free in compensation.
  
  Service was ok despite being super busy and only one server.
  I feel bad as they tried hard to make good food and a good experience. But its important they review their cooking tools to ensure they are all in working order

  Lucky Gate doesn't look all that appealing on the outside but it's pretty good. Outside looks kind of old and dirty but inside even it's old ish they keep it tidy and clean. Nice service and good food at reasonable price. Lots of options and love that they explain a little of their perspective of Chinese food and it's cultural background. Very thoughtful, educational, and interesting. Not usually crowded but do get busy thought the noon to afternoon time. Good for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. No reservation needed and a few different sits. A parking lot in the front and a smaller one at the back and it's not too hard to find.

  Superb hidden gem of coquitlam. Their soup dumplings are simply amazing. It also helped that I had a local with me when visiting this restaurant - one who was familiar with the various delicious specialties they have to offer.

  There were ants and ant poison all over the floors below our table when I ate here last summer.  Some of the ants were crawling onto the top of our tables and getting onto our chopsticks.  I took pictures of all of this on my phone but lost them.
  
  Food was decent.
